Description

A fellow Rockhoppers MC member suggested a long walk from our campsite at Chapel Stile in Langdale. We decided to make the most of a fine day, so climbed Crinkle Crags via Red Tarn but descending into Lingcove at Three Tarns. Passing under Long Crag we climbed beside Cam Spout before heading up the pathless ridge above Cam Spout crag. Descending via Foxes Tarn we continued along the ridge north to Great End. From Esk hause we passed over Bowfell and descended down The Band, bumping into some Rockhoppers at the ODG and accepting a lift back to Elterwater where the rest of the club were having dinner.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
