Description

An exploration of the hills and moors north and west of Rhayader based in the bothy at Lliest-cwm-bach. The first evening I was accompanied by a club member, but the next two days were solo. I avoided paths as much as possible and visited numerous small tops and ancient sites on the moorland, before returning to Rhayader to catch a bus and return to London.

Area : Elan Valley

The Elan Valley (Welsh: Cwm Elan) is a river valley situated to the west of Rhayader, in Powys, Wales, sometimes known as the "Welsh Lake District". It covers 70 square miles (180 km2) of lake and countryside.
