Description

From the parking in Tanygrisiau, ascended the footpath towards llyn Stawlan via Carreg Blaaen Llym in good visabilty. Summited Moelwyn bach, weather turned to light rain and poor visability. Descended back towards Llyn Stawlan and followed a footpath to summit Moelwyn mawr. Rain became more heavy, descended via the north side of the lake dam, and took the tarmac path down from the dam. Some navigation necessary as the visability became very poor.

Area : Moelwynion

The Moelwynion (a Welsh plural, sometimes anglicised to Moelwyns) are a group of mountains in central Snowdonia. They extend from the north-east of Porthmadog to Moel Siabod, the highest of the group. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (great white hill) and Moelwyn Bach (little white hill).
