Description

Stunning circular walk with Debs & Ava from Carrbridge. Took the route from a local guidebook and did the navigation ourselves.
Had to come up with multiple plans to cross a river as the intended ‘ford’ was deep and fast moving. We walked along the river to identify a suitable crossing point, and even walked to the next forestry track crossing point, which turned out was not on the ground anymore.
Used stepping stones to cross the river then back to our intended route.
Beautiful history surrounding the bridges of Carrbridge and Sluggan.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
