3 navigation master classes with different groups - developing pacing, 4 Ds, use of compass and recognition of contour features. Great clients with a range of experience and a brilliant 3 days out in the fells. Focused around Elterwater and the Langdale pikes. Using a range of maps from OS 1:25, BMC 1:40 and the FRA mapped 1:15 of the immediate area above Elterwater.

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
