Despite starting out with a full rack and rope attached to a belayer, to my dismay I realised that I am in fact shit at placing gear and have once again soloed this route. At 1/2 up I realised my only remaining protection was 2 meters off the ground, not to worry I'll place another. 3/4 up and I have returned to only having my completely pointless first piece of gear. Not to worry.... This repeated until I had completed the crux, only to discover that I was once again on solo lead.

Llanberis Slate (Trad)
A showcase of Welsh climbing, the names are evocative of the eighties and nineties: Vivian, Australia, Dali’s Hole, Rainbow Slab, Never Neverland, Lost World, Twll Mawr. Lots of hard stuff, mostly single pitch and a new guidebook with a quaintly non-portable format. Comes the Dervish, German Schoolgirl, Pull My Daisy, just do them.
