NNAS Bronze, Day 2. Assessment. With Steve Mycroft of Peak2Mountain Expeditions. Map work was conducted in and around Hope Derbyshire. As homework and part of the Assessment day, planned walking route and printed maps using OS Maps App. Estimated timing and pacing for individual legs, and provided 8 digit grids for way points.

Weather was sunny and hot, with the high at 24C. Winds below the summit of Lose Hill were mild, but gusts were averaging 30 mph on the summit and along the Great Ridge.

Successfully completed and passed the NNAS Bronze Assessment.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
