Description

Up from Rhyd Ddu, through old quarry to Bwlch-Cwn Llan - recce for a group trip later in the year. Good "cut off" at Bwlch - feels in the mountains but easy return route for slower/less aspirational members of the group. Good views over to West and East peak of Y Lliwedd. Scrambled up ridge to Allt Maenbderyn and along Clogwyn Du. Contoured round to Llechog ridge - interesting change in geology - sedimentary rocks on top of newer igneous which had been on the surface lower down? Clear change in rock type and colour. Decent by Ryd Ddu path. Good beer in pub in Ryd Ddu with Niamh.
