Description

Ascent from station carpark via Grindsbourgh clough, Descent via Moors. By far the worse conditions I have been walking in; brought the realisation how fast weather can change in the mountains as it was sunny at the beginning of the walk. Walked with Mother and dog. Very stressful situation at the end as navigation through the moors just going off bearings led Mother to doubt the situation and became very vocal on how unhappy she was feeling. Overshot Grindsbourgh clough on the descent so zigzaged down the hillside.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
