Description

Day 3 of staff training. Climbing in series. Extending runners, preventing rope drag, protecting traverses, equalising slings, placing gear at belays, testing gear and holding falls, student set up stacked abseil.

Area : Llanberis Pass

The one-time crucible of Welsh climbing. The fine crags of the Pass are easily accessible from the road. On the north side, the principal crags are: Dinas y Gromlech (bearing the famous line of Cenotaph Corner), Carreg Wastad (flat rock) and Clogwyn y Grochan. Further down the valley is Craig Ddu (black rock). On the south side, the principal 'roadside' cliff is Dinas Mot.
