Description

Took my friend a complete beginner out to climb his first munro. The route I had planned was straight forward and the weather conditions okay but windy with some rain at times.
Before we set out I asked what gear my friend had with them, he showed me and I went through what he needed to have as a minimum and why. Although I communicated this to him a few days before he didn't take it all onboard. We set off and I let him Also explained basic navigation to him. During the walk I let him practice navigation and do short legs. Giving him pointers along the way. We successfully reached the top of the munro where we stopped for a short break. We safely made our way down back to the car. I could have chosen a more challenging munro or route but there is no point doing so for a complete beginner as it is important they are not pushed out of their comfort zone straight way, enjoy it and build their confidence.
