This was a mixture of Lowland and Mountain walking. We had previously walked this route West to East and wanted the challenge of walking East to West. We encountered all types of weather including torrential rain and gale force winds on Blakey Ridge.
I learnt to, as always, on multi day treks to be prepared for each day by looking at the weather and route carefully and carrying appropriate provisions.
Total milers covered 192 in 14 days.
Area :
The North York Moors
To the east the area is clearly defined by the impressive cliffs of the North Sea coast. The northern and western boundaries are defined by the steep scarp slopes of the Cleveland Hills edging the Tees lowlands and the Hambleton Hills above the Vale of Mowbray and the broken line of the Tabular Hills to the south
