Day with 3 Students from UON Climbing Club. Went through setting up belays and introduced ABC & IDEAS. Practiced on the ground in different places. Then led two routes and set up belays at top of the crag. Covered Access & Conservation issues and Safety. Also covered incident management. Student then went off to lead four more routes.
Area :Peak District Grit: Lawrencefield, Millstone, Mother Cap, Yarncliffe and nearby quarries and crags
Mostly the quarried grit crags south-east of Hathersage, including Lawrencefield, Millstone, Mother Cap, Tegness and Yarncliffe, but also the natural grit crags of Over Owler Tor and Secret Garden.
