Description

Main purpose of this walk was to clear my head and to work on my mountain fitness. Weather was cold with snow and ice from midway to the top of Clachnaben. Prepared as usual with appropriate clothing, and items and spar clothing in my bag plus food and fluids.

Area : Braemar to Montrose (Lochnagar)

Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
