Description

Making the most of a difficult day. The previous days snow had melted and was making it's way forcibly into the rivers aided by heavy rainfall from above. Wind speed on the tops were prohibative for walking and I was supervising a group with a large number of novices. Somehow managed to inspire willingness for a reasonably full day out (5.5hours travel on one of the shortest daylight days of the year)with a circuit round Malham cove and Gordale scar.

Area : South Yorkshire Dales

Most of the larger southern dales (e.g. Ribblesdale, Malhamdale and Airedale, Wharfedale and Nidderdale) run roughly parallel from north to south. Includes the Three Peaks, Malham and Langstrothdale/Wharfdale.
