Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
Assisted ML Jim Donaldson with an intro to winterskills course. I was asked to prepare talks on weather and avalanche awareness which I presented to the group during lunch. Throughout the day I assisted the group members and answers questions and gave tips as well as ensuring the members were save together with Jim. Skills covered were movement, route choice, ice axe self arrest, safety and emergencies,
