Description

So much planning went into today , checking the weather all day Saturday
checking the avalanche forecasts .. which lead me to this route as there was a moderate risk (2) on E and NE aspects ..

Initially i wanted to go up the window on to Creag Meagaidh but with the forecast risk it was too much of a terrain trap.

Planned to do the 3 munros , but after making heavy work of the ascent to Creag Meagaidh in deep wet snow and very slow navigation in a white out from 750M to the summit ..

Decided to cut short the day despite the clouds lifting and giving great visibility for the rest of the day, we did not fancy a walk off in the dark.

Next time if i come off the same way , I will follow the water shed after Puist Coire Ardair coming down a shallower inclibe than my chosen route

Area : Creag Meagaidh Loch Lochy To Loch Laggan)

This area includes the famous Creag Meagaidh Range and surrounding peaks of at least 600m. It stretches east of the A82 between Spean Bridge and Invergarry, and north of the A86 as far east as Stob Coire Dubh. There are a large number of impressive winter climbs in Coire Ardair and endless navigation opportunities on and around the high central plateau of Creag Meagaidh itself. The mountains to the north and east of this range are under East Highlands, Monaliadth Mountains.
