An Inverness MC weekend staying at Inverardran Cottage. The weather forecast was for heavy rain lower down, and gale force winds higher up. Rather than stay in the wet and attempt a lower hill, a couple of us decided to see if we could get above the wet. An Caisteal was chosen as the wind was from the south and we hoped the summit itself would offer some protection. We were battered on Sron Gharbh but found some respite from the wind on the ridge. However the last 50m was fully exposed to the wind making standing up difficult. The summit slopes were covered in hard snow on both sides so teh prudent decision was easily made to turn around.
