climber has his ankle fused since November 2021 and wanted to start climbing again. After having been to the climbing wall twice, I thought it was a good idea to try and lead a Vdiff, I chose back to basics, because it's solid rock and easy to set up a belay stance if necessary for me to take over in case it hurt too much. He was fine, taking a long time, but it really gave him a lot more confidence he could actually do this even with the bad heel, with little movement. The top was quite loose, so I decided it was better for him to set up a belay on the solid rock and I set up the anchors at the top so he could climb up on the loose rock without worrying about losing his balance. this one climb and the 40 meter abseil was more than enough for a first outing after a life changing accident.
