
Today I had young Grace back for her latest session. Last time with Grace was in February so it’s been quite a while for her without climbing / coaching.
I was amazed at how quickly she got back into it, and can confidently identify which end of the rope is hers, and tie a re threaded fig. 8 with stopper without help.
What was also good was that she is able to identify when the fig. 8 has switched left or right handed.
The main win for us both today though was watching Grace achieve a route, but then trying it again to focus on a couple of specific moves where a ‘step through’ might be beneficial. Grace tried the route again with this step through, and found it much easier, and she looked much more fluid in her motion which was really great to see.
