Description

Leading a group of 12 from the RPC for their adventure day of the week. They chose a hike and we set off from the Walna Scar car park up to the old man. Super windy on top but managed the group over summit plateau then down to Goat's Hawse. The weather calmed somewhat so we went up and around Dow crag summit before heading down back to the RPC via Torver village.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
