Description

Climbed in parallel with 2 clients on trad taster day. One was their first time outdoors and the other more experienced. Used 2nd more experienced client to mentor beginner on the route as I led up and placed gear protecting both seconds.
Learning Point from this route:
- Need better briefing for new to trad clients to lay out everything but careful not to overload with information.

Area : Lowland Outcrops: The Glasgow Outcrops

The Glasgow outcrops include some very well known venues, including Dumbarton Rock with its excellent bouldering and a range of trad routes that include some of the hardest ever done, anywhere. The sport routes here and the nearby Dumbuck should be entered in the sport climbing section of DLOG. Dolerite is the predominant rock type, the best venue being the popular and extremely user-friendly Auchinstarry Quarry, but there are natural outcroppings too in The Campsie Hills, especially at The Whangie. Ben An is described in the corresponding section of the SMC Lowland Outcrops guidebook, but in DLOG it has been placed in Highland Outcrops: Argyll and The Trossachs because geologically it is in the Highlands, and geographically it is in the Trossachs.
