arrived on 7/06/15 after driving there from previous DLOG entry, after I woke up, followed the peak that i camped next to up to the plateau, then took quite a while to walk over to mount keen, progress was very slow as walking over the peat hags was slow, having to jump down or go round ect.. but none the less very useful as all navigation was on me, also found myself instantly matching features on the land to my map, in turn figuring out where i was this was very good, great viability, but cloud came in later in the day, long day out.
Area :
Braemar to Montrose (Lochnagar)
Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
