Possibly the toughest day of the tour. From Vallouise with the Norwegians, up the river Onde to Entre les Aygues & on to the unmanned Cabane de Jas-Lacroix, which was complete with sleeping mats & bags. Looking for shade for lunch above here then endlessly zigzagging up, picked up a young belgian with enormous sack, bathing his blistered feet. Finally, we crossed a very slippery shale slope, without vegetation & set at an angle that you wouldn't ever stop. Path cambered outward & towards the end, a little ice to be crossed, & up th Col de l'Aup Martin (2761m & highest of the tour). More shale to traverse to another col at Pas de la Cavale, then down & down zigzags to the lovely Refuge de la Pre de la Chaumette.
