Description

Starting from Glenridding, we walked up to Hole-in-the-Wall and then onwards over Striding Edge. From there we carried on up to the summit of Helvellyn and then headed down via Swirral Edge, back to Hole-in-the-Wall and down to Glenridding.
Weather was very hot and still so we took regular drinks breaks.
The scrambles over Striding Edge and Swirral Edge were much easier than expected!

Area : Eastern Fells

The Eastern Fells occupy the region between the A591 Keswick to Ambleside road and the lake of Ullswater to the west. The Helvellyn range forms the main spine of the group. To the south across the depression of Grisedale Hause, is the Fairfield group of fells.
