Description

With M, Sarah and Michael to Beinn an Eoin from the Red Shed. Off before 9 on a cold morning with snow on road & Flowerdale path. River low & stepping stones visible. Traces of prints from where we went off piste, across Moor & up a little gully. Snow often knee deep but I thought it would be less on ridge. Wrong! Knee deep all along the ridge & by the time we reached summit at 13.30 I had been breaking trail for 3 hrs! Great views to Torridon & An Teallach. Quick turn around & back to path in a further 2 hours. Michael took over from stepping stones & led us out in 90mins.

Area : Cuillin and Torridon (Liathach)

This area is on the west coast of Scotland and its most well-known mountains are probably Beinn Eighe (1010m) and Liathach (1055m). The area is bordered by Loch Maree and the A832 to the north and Glen Carron and the A890 to the south. It should not to be confused with The Cuillin which is on Skye and listed in the Western Isles region. The mountains list contains all peaks above 800m.
