Description

Very hot/humid in valley with cold strong winds on moor. Parking Dufton for party of 2. Pennine Way and Narrow Gate to top of High Cup, then Pennine Way to Maizebeck Scar, crossed FB and used Pennine Way to ford and recrossed river to return to High Cupgill Head, descent back to Dufton via Middle Tongue (some boggy areas) to Harbour Flatt, then road to car. 16.57 kms/9.94 miles.

Between the A69 and the A66. The region is widely considered to be one of the most scenic areas of the United Kingdom. The North Pennines and Nidderdale are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
