Description

The "Angel's Ridge" scramble up the North East ridge of Sgor an Lochain Uaine is mostly an easy and very enjoyable Grade 1 with fantastic views. It got very exhilarating just at the end, and although I expected this from the description in the guidebook, it did appear to go beyond its grade 1 status for a little bit, and I wondered if I'd taken a wrong turn - luckily the summit appeared quite suddenly!

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
