Description

Start: Loch Lubnaig A84 Car Park NN 58346 13662
Distance: 19k
Duration: 6.5 hours
Direction: NNE up track then ENE after stream to Beinn Each; NNE to 735 then roughly ENE to summit of Stuc a'Chroin. Due N to stream then WNW to join track descending to Glenample farmstead; returning S up Glenample and back to car (see OS Maps below).
Description: Challenging scramble/ off track/ faint track by former fence (a few posts only survive) between Beinn Each and Stuc a'Chroin. Good visibility but increasing wind affected walking along the ridge so chose to change route back (originally planned to return same way). Had line of sight to stream and ground looked manageable to followed off path route and joined track further down (which had been diverted due to new water collection feature, but was visible so could be found).

Area : Strathyre to Strathallan (Ben Vorlich)

This area includes the eastern edge of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and the Glen Artney Hills. Ben Vorlich (985m) and Stuc a’ Chroin (975m) are the only two Munros in the area which covers the land between Loch Earn (to the north) and the town of Callander (to the south). Access is typically from the A84 or A85.
