Description

RCI day with client.
Started with familiarisation with trad equipment and starter activity of finding cracks and how to place them. Did WWW and EBI, before showing how to connect them, why we would connect them (IDEAS) and how it may relate to her mountaineering ambitions.had some good questions which I answered well. Then moved onto knots where I assessed her fig 8, overhand and then taught the alpine butterfly which she would use to tie into middle of rope in alpine terrain as part of a team, this can be done in gloves and won’t synch when loaded unlike the OH knots.
First route we did as a top rope before switching to bottom ropes and working on different problems. Made some alterations to climb8ng technique (smaller steps, watching feet and long levers) which massively improved her climbing.
Finished on abseils.
Good day
