day Two of a NNAS Direct to Silver award

shadowing Simon from Mountain Experience
seven candidates

assisiting Simon in the delivery of navigation training, managing the group whilst out on the fell,

working with a subset of the group
- giving navigation leg targets,
- checking their strategies
- checking their end of leg relocation
- providing feedback on accurancy, learning opportunities.

Also had an opportunity to demonstrate and manage a section of STEEP GROUND descent. A couple of the party were nervous and physically disadvantaged which needed particular management.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
