Description

Day 2 with Alex and James. The ground was again wet so we started by refreshing anchor building and then adding self-belays. Alex and James practised self-anchors and then I demoed a self-abseil before they built them. Alex was then comfortable to lead so we got on captstone chimney and I self-lined. Alex then built an anchor and brought James up. We them converted the self lined to a top rope and both Alex and James climbed bounce tested and did small falls on gear on lead whilst ghost roped. I then led both up in parrallel on Blackhawk traverse left. James then finished with an independent lead up Grotto Slab.

Area : Peak District Grit: Stanage Edge

Simply the finest crag on grit with well over 1000 routes of all grades and styles. The most popular of climbing areas in the UK with a huge number of classic routes. We have split the area into the same divisions as used for UKC logbooks, namely Stanage Popular, Stanage Plantation and Stanage North. Bouldering activities should be entered into the 'Outdoor Bouldering' section of DLOG. Routes on other gritstone crags, such as Burbage North, should be added to the relevant Area as noted in the Area titles.
