Description

Group of around 10 kids. Boathouse climbing centre with Andy Sutcliffe. Set up 2x single pitch bottom ropes. Most kids got a couple ascents in and then back to the centre due to weather. Afternoon completed at the centre with games, exercises and some further routes on the main wall

Area : North Wales North Coast Trad Limestone, Conwy and Denbigh

This area encompasses the Great and Little Orme in Llandudno and the A55 crags. There is trad, sport and bouldering to choose from and a full range of grades, although the best routes trend toward the top end of difficulty. Also a full range of rock from slippery to loose to polished. Even the easier routes – HVS and E1, are steep and it can be a major adventure just getting to some of the routes on the Ormes. Pesda Press says about the latest A55 guide, ‘These twelve sport climbing crags and a bouldering venue between Junctions 16 and 23 on the A55 are all a short hop from the expressway, only 1½ hours from Manchester and ¾ of an hour by car from Llanberis and Gogarth. Easy route finding, technical climbing, and bolted routes makes for a fun day out. It’s a great way to bag a few routes on the way back from Anglesey or Snowdonia or enjoy a full day of varied and fun climbing with short walk-ins.’ Sounds ideal!
