Planning and leading my son round this circuit. Initial plan was to combine the two Corbetts Creagan na Beinne and Creag Uchdag with the start and finish point being Ardtalnaig on the south shore of Loch Tay. The ascent of Creagan na Beinne was initially on landrover track but as height was gained this soon morphed in to a footpath until it became undistinguishable at which point it was every man for themselves through sodden ground mainly grasses and heather. Having summited Creagan na Beinne we descended to the lodge at Dunan, the weather appeared to be turning against with Creag Uchdag enveloped in black cloud so decision was taken to follow the land rover track back out to Ardtalnaig.
Having prepared for a plan B, on return to the car it was lunch time and weather was looking more promising in the east. Having climbed one of a pair of Corbetts years earlier I suggested tackling Farragon Hill from the south starting at Edradynate. Cycled as far as Loch Derculich before setting of on foot cimbing to the high point before Lochan a'Chait then picking a route through deep heather up the NE flank to the summit, a couple of craggy sections which needed a scramble here and there. Descending was down the SE shoulder returning to land rover track at the top corner of the conifer plantation before down the landrover track to the bikes.
A mix day of weather although managed to avoid any heavy rainfall.
Strava total stats - 19.96 miles, 4586ft ascended and 6.5hrs moving time.
