14 week course with 4 climbers from Pear Tree School. Pear Tree is a specialist SEN school. All climbers have a 1:1 assistant. Participants were all physically able but had serious ASD.
Had no idea how this session was going to go, eventual goal was for all 4 to reach the top before the end of the course (success!). Eventually, we settled on getting 1 TA to belay another TA, next to a student belayed by the third TA. the 4th TA kept the 3 participants that were not on the wall entertained. This method allowed the wall based TA to provide support at all points of the climb.
