Description

A bike packing expedition from Kinbrace station, and camping on the western shore ofLoch Choire at Altnaba. The first full day was a traverse along Ben Klibrek's ridge from the Bealach Easach via pomt 528 and A'Chaoirnichain. This was trackless apart from the short section up the summit cone of Meall nan Con where I briefly joined the munro baggers path frm Crask. A good exploration of this hills lesser known parts. The following day consisted of an exploration of the old deteriorating estate tracks on the large moorland area called the Monadh Stairneach. A fascinating area slowly being reclaimed, whether through intent or by accident. The final day I moved camp to the barn at Gearnsay and explored the neolithic burial cairns and other relicts in that area.

Area : Coigach to Cape Wrath

This area is situated on the north-western tip of Scotland and contains 4 Munros (from biggest to smallest); Ben More Assynt (998m), Conival (987m), Ben Klibreck (962m) and Ben Hope (927m). Also included in the mountains list are all of the peaks above 700m. The southern boundary is the road which joins Ullapool to Lairg and then to the A9.
