Description

Guiding a group of 11 people over the 5 Sisters of Kintail with another ML. Pretty miserable conditions in the morning, with high NE winds forecast, so we opted to traverse under Sgurr nan Spainteach to get some shelter from the wind before climbing up to the bealach east of Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe. Conditions ended up being better than forecast, with winds probably gusting around 40mph, easing as the day went on. By the time we hit the west end of the ridge, the clouds were clearing and it ended up being a very good day.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
