Hell Gill in Mallerstang.
First off, I led my daughter in but turned around at the start of the middle section as I wasn't keen on the water levels.
As we exited, we met an experienced group entering (leaders were both mountain rescue) who offered us to accompany them. The children with them were really small. Although I wanted to say no thanks, I didn't want to be bad dad so offered my daughter to do it. She was very keen.
All went well, with me helping out with the small kids. Rope used to assist the down climb I'd bailed initially. Jump went fine.
But then the last drop in the middle section my daughter managed to break her tibia. And by now the little children were very cold, some of them scared.
So, rescue mode between the three of us adults. Got all of them out and safely back to cars. Then one adult, who was a trauma doctor, checked out the injured leg before we went our separate ways, which for my daughter and I was A&E.
So, lesson reinforced - stick to own assessment of hazard. OK, her injury was a freak thing with a buffet of water pushing her into a rock with her leg at a bad angle and everyone else was OK, but if I'd not offered her the chance to go back in she'd have just been grumpy at me for saying no rather than having weeks in plaster.
