Welsh 3000s route, completed South to North starting on Yr Wyddfa & finishing on Foel Fras climbing all 15 Welsh 3000ft peaks. See GPX for exact route.
Being solo I planned and led all aspects.
I had completed some sections and peaks, but there was a significant portion of unfamiliar terrain, and my first continuous round.
I ascended all 15 of the Welsh 3000ft peaks on this route.
At times the paths were indistinct requiring navigation, and some of the route lacked any path. Later in the day poor visibility created tricky navigation conditions even on paths.
Increased my knowledge of dealing with energy management on long days, as well as blisters. Found a plant I'd never seen before which I later identified as Rosy Saxifrage.
Had to decide whether to continue toward the end with painful blisters which slowed me down; combined with the colder weather was a concern. It was misty over Crib Goch but dry enough under foot that I thought it was a reasonable judgement to have gone for it today.
It took me a bit more than 5 hrs in total including hiking up to Yr Wyddfa and off of Foel Fras.
