Walk with a 2 person group up above Glen Feshi. It was a guiding day and a good leg stretch before the weekends work. There was a coverage of snow underfoot close to the summit but not enough for my plans with my weekend clients. It was a good day with a reasonable view. The two people I was guiding had not been up there before and enjoyed getting out in the winter weather. Little bit of navigation to the summit and a good lesson on crampon technique as they were a little rusty.
Area :
The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
