I picked a variety of routes for these two climbers who had been with me before and wanted to progress a bit more. Some slabby starts and steep starts, easy cracks with tricky finishes, lots of different opportunities to place gear and we even got a short multipitch done to let them see what was involved there. Footwork is key I keep saying and choosing comfortable places to stop so you can look forward and make a plan. each climb was a different set of problems with a different set of solutions. If there is a problem look to your feet and where your body is in relation to your feet. the instinct to look up for hand holds is universal but not always a solution
