Westerly winds meant sticking to east faces and ridges. Planned to do Pinnacle ridge, then follow up the contour, onto the shoulder, up a gully to summit.
Navved to pinnacle ridge and did some preemptive scrambling off the other, on the ridge, climbed up and set up a quick Body belay using steep ground. Felt due to conditions this would be safer. Set up the Oh knot on a spike, used an alpine butterfly to then tie myself in as I hadn’t done the secondary OH knot.
Moving up proved difficult with the wind funnelling into gully so we dropped back and into another. Mixed climbing later and we took shelter at the top.
Visibility was near void so relocated, then took a bearing and pacing to the summit.
Accuracy key due to sharp drop off, over egged the M to avoid the drop, counted to 200m precisely.
From here we micro nav Ed off the plateau top, using timings, pacing. Easier to use timing than pacing due to unstable ground. Dropped between ridges and made our way back.
Www - steep ground, relocation and micro nav
EBI - keep alert to changes in wind speed and direction to adapt plans
