Description

A great walk out of Ambleside and up to the summit of Red Screes. It had recently snowed and temperature had been below freezing for some time leading to light snow on the summit, ice everywhere and some interesting icicle formations. Weather was cold but clear and bright making for easy navigation. The ground was hard and frozen making it easier to cross normally boggy areas.

Area : Eastern Fells

From the Kirkstone Pass to the M6.
