Description: Awesome! Major challenge - the Ring of Fire. Very tough. Left bothy 6am. S to start of plotted route - no paths whatsoever; SE boggy to start but reasonable ascent finding ways over steep ground; terrible descent to Glen Dee valley over tussochs and then ascent on N side again pathless and difficult; some dramatic rock formations - researched geology later; then better ATV track in places over tops. Camped at 500m in twilight. Ice inside and outside tent, as well as on some tops, but sleeping bag kept me warm. 1907m ascent.
