Attempt to climb Vogel from Lake Bohinj, making use of cable car for much of the ascent. Walked 3km through woodland to cable car station then used this to ascend to 1500m. Approached Vogel via Zadnji (1424m), reached the pass at 1625m and ascended easy via ferrata before stopping as the path crossed the north slope of the mountain which was covered with steep, icy snow. Briefly attempted to scramble above this before assessing that the risk was too high. Heading East, we instead climbed Sija (1880m) with cold winds and light snow starting soon after reaching the summit. Descended via Cez Suho pass (admiring the views) and the long gully path down to Ricev Laz (530m) then our hostel. Great to be up high amongst the mountain peaks.
