
Start from Ogwen Cottage up through the "cut" above Llyn Idwal. Across boggy ground to the unnamed ridge to the south of Cwm Clyd. Took the line keeping as close to the centre of the ridge as possible, aiming to maintain as much interesting scrambling as the terrain would allow. Skirted around the high cliffs and through a small rake up to the summit ridge below Y Garn. Followed the Cwm edge around to summit Y Garn. then took the NE ridge off to return back to Idwal Cottage. Novice scrambler and hill walker.

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
