Mountain Month Day 3
Day 3 of the mountain month we headed to Craig y Tonnau, today’s aim was for us to lead routes up to severe comfortably, We completed each route twice once leading it and then seconding it, each time we looked at trying to find different places to place protection, we looked for places where we could use nuts, slings and cams. The last route Robbins Nest the challenge was to lead the route using just cams, which was great for me to familiarise myself using it. When we reached the top we practiced setting anchors and going through IDEAS, Independent, Direction, Equal, Angle and Safe. We then looked at managing people at the top of the crag and getting them back down safely. We then practiced escaping the system and abseiling down.
