Description

Cloudy, wet and cold. From Aboyne climbed up to Mnt Keen. Good navigation practise due to low cloud and mist. From Mnt Keen walked to the head of Loch Muick at Corrie Chash and camped for the night. Woke to a beautiful morning. Sunny and warm. Head to Spittal of Glenshee via Broad Cairn, Cairn Bannoch, Tolmount, Cairn of Claise, Glas Moal, Creag Leacach then dropped down to Glen Muick. Hot day and very knackering.

Area : Braemar to Montrose (Lochnagar)

Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
