Description

A late afternoon jaunt with Matt and Ollie. Looked at Tiger’s Wall but backed off at the bulge but was very tempted to carry on. One to go back for. Really liked Bowden Doors

Area : Northumberland

The rock is predominantly weathered sandstone, crozzley and worn into phantasmagorical shapes. See the Wave at Bowden Back Doors and the lovely flutings at Berryhill. Northumbrian grades are HARD and they have their own language. ‘Gan for it,’ roughly translates as, ‘Should you fail we might contact the emergency services.’ And, ‘Yer a canny lad, ye,’ as ‘With suitable training you may begin to approach my standards.’ Bowden Dorrs, Back Bowden Doors, Kyloe, Simonside, gan canny and howk up the weenies.
