Description

Mostly cloudy all day but with some intermittent periods of sunshine and good visibility. A longer day than anticipated.
From parking NW out of Newtonmore followed track north along Allt a` Chaorainn before bearing off west towards hut and to Creag na h-lolaire. Navigated in flat light onto Geal Charn and also onto A` Chailleach. Practiced further navigation on descent, picking a few contour features to hit on the way down. Progress was slow due to lots of fresh snowfall. Fresh snow was poorly bonded to older crust layer and care was taken during descent of A Chailleach. 7 hours.
